Confessions of a Local Perth Escort: Emotional Aspects of Escorting

People have assumed that working as an escort is easy and breezy because of the notion that we earn fast cash. But as an escort, we also face difficulties - especially in the emotional aspect of our lives.

I’ve been a local Perthescort for such a long time now, and I started the career when I was 18 years of age. What drove me into this business was, honestly, money. I was an innocent girl at that time, living with my average family, with 4 younger siblings who were still sent to school like me. My earnings working as a waitress in a pizza parlor was not enough to support my family; hence, without second thoughts, I entered the world of adult maturity business.

Escorting, from what I’ve seen and experienced, is seen as something discreet, only to be practiced where it’s dark and hidden. And, until today, it’s still not yet fully accepted by the world’s society. Escorts are somehow treated with a stigma, and most of us are stereotyped. Well, that’s a fact, and I know that it’d take a long time before we can change it. The adult entertainment is bashed by the majority of society, and unequal treatment is always a possibility that we have to live with, everyday.

Escorts these days can be divided into two groups, those who provide sensual and intimate pleasures and those who are tagged as nonsexual escorts and can only be employed as companions. Local Perth escorts here in the heart of the metro are subdivided into further groups. But, on behalf of the escort community, we can never avoid the risk of falling for our clients.

One of the emotional conflicts we encounter is falling in love. Falling in love with our clients is never an easy aspect. See, most of us are hoping that our lovers will protect us and would help us leave the business we are now in. But then, some of us - including me - have this addiction to not leave the industry. It has now become a part of our lives. We have been attached to this business and leaving is quite a self-battle to overcome. Although, some escorts have managed to do this and have successfully left the industry, and gracefully, too.

Another problem that we encounter is denial. For years, we carry on with these denials from the time we entered the industry. We thought that there’s nothing wrong with what we’re doing, but the thought of servicing men you do not love, opening your legs to whoever wants to indulge with your services...is a form of suicide. Pleasure without involving emotions is a very real and weighty pain.

Hence, I can conclude that with all these conflicting emotions we feel, we have been attuned to become masters of masking emotions when doing our work. It really is a self-battle to deal with, such a long process to go through. That’s one of the daily struggles of becoming an escort.
